The objectives of the programme are:
- To provide students with a broad education in the fundamentals of interior design.
- To develop the students' ability to create, manipulate and enhance the designing of the interior space.
- To introduce students to the concept of spatial literacy through scale, colour, light, texture, acoustics and materials.
- To provide students with strong skills and qualifications needed for the employment in the field of interior design.

Advantages for the holders of the Diploma in Interior Design:
- Possess an accredited diploma.
- Operate and manage their  own Interior Design Agency.
- Pursue direct employment in Interior Design Agencies, Architects' Offices, Furniture Manufacturers, etc.
- Continue and complete the four year programme of study at FU and acquire the BA Degree in Interior Design.
- Can be exempted from the Art and Design Foundation Course and are eligible to transfer to the second year of studies for a BA Degree at UK Universities or transfer to the third year of studies at USA Universities.
- Continue their studies for a BA Degree at established universities abroad.
