“APAKALBOS 2014”

On the 9th June students from our Fashion department were selected to take part in the fashion show “Apakalbos 2014” which takes place in Lithuania every year. “Apakalbos” which when translated means ‘gossip’, is a fashion show organised by the fashion design department of J. Vienozinskis Art faculty of Kaunas College. It is an international fashion show where students and graduates from Lithuanian colleges as well as foreign art academies including Finland, Turkey, Latvia, Ukraine and Belarus, have the opportunity to show their end of year collections.

On the 16th anniversary of ‘Apakalbos’, three of our students Eleonora Antoniadou, Antigoni Hadjiantoniou and Xenia Pazarou had the opportunity to show their collections in front of an international audience. Their collections ‘Linear Story’ from E. Antoniadou, ‘Illusion’ from A.Hadjiantoniou and ‘Redesigning Marie Antoinette’ from X. Pazarou had impressed the audience.

After the success of this show, the fashion department at Frederick Institute of Technology, together with the fashion department at Kaunas College have decided to work together with a joint project in the following academic year.
