CYTA Outdoor Games Design Competition among College Students Cyta on its 40th anniversary, proclaimed an Outdoor Games Design Competition among college students in Cyprus. An FIT student of the Graphic and Advertising Design Course, Antonis Diakos won the first prize. French Cultural Centre, Cyprus Logo Design Competition FIT graduate of the Graphic and Advertising Design Course, Ms. Ioanna Patichi won the first prize in a pancyprian competition organized by the French Cultural Centre, for the design of a new logo for the Centre. A First Prize in the Media Terra 2002 Competition At the International Festival Media Terra 2002, Athens, Greece, organised by the Greek Centre of Art and New Technology, Fournos, and funded by the Greek Ministry of Culture, an FIT graduate, Demetris Roussos won the first prize in the streaming video competition. Logo Design Competition for Athalasa National Park In the pancyprian design competition organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and National Resources, Forestry Department, the first and second prizes for the logo design were won by FIT students. Cyprus Participation in Biennale 2003 FIT graduates Fanos Kyriakou and Demetris Roussos are included in the team of artists selected to represent Cyprus in the Biennale of New European and Mediterranean Countries 2003 at Athens, Greece. Eurolife's Pancyprian Sculptural Design Competition All six prizes were won by FIT students and graduates. The winning designs are already decorating the Eurolife’s Building at Nicosia. Department of Town Planning Photographic Competition The Ministry of Internal Affairs/Department of Town Planning under the auspices of the European Council and with a view to promote the architectural heritage of Cyprus organised a Pancyprian Photographic Competition for participants of up to 23 years of age. Subject areas for contestants to choose from were: Historic Civic Centres and Traditional Villages. Three prizes were awarded in each subject area. FIT students won all prizes in the Traditional Villages subject area and one out of three prizes in the Historic Civic Centres subject area. FIT was awarded the Erasmus University Charter The European Commission has awarded Frederick Institute of Technology the Erasmus University Charter (EUC).
