ERASMUS – WORK PLACEMENT

The Erasmus Work Placement is designed to promote the activation of internships in enterprises offices or organizations in one of the 33 participating countries in Europe, 28 european member states, the countries of EFTA and EEA Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland and candidate country, Turkey. Students participating in the program have the opportunity to acquire skills and to put their knowledge into practise. They also acquire a better understanding of the social culture and of the economy of the host country while they enrich their CVs at the same time.

Program Participation:
Students wishing to participate in the program should carefully read the following information:

Interested students should send a completed Erasmus Work Placement Declaration of Interest Form to the Erasmus Institutional Coordinator on or before the deadlines provided below:

• Deadline for the Fall Semester/all the year: 30th of March, each year
• Deadline for the Spring Semester: 31st of October, each year.

Language Requirements:
At most of our partner Institutions, courses are taught in the native language. However, in a number of partner Universities the language of instruction is English whilst in some others, specific courses are offered in English especially for Erasmus students.

If you are thinking about going on an Erasmus exchange where your courses are not taught in Greek, you should have a good knowledge of the host institution language of instruction.

English Language Support before going abroad
Every semester, Frederick Institute of Technology offers different English courses in different levels (from elementary to advance). If you need to improve your English language skills before going abroad, you can register to one or more of the English courses on offer.

Linguistic Preparation (EILC courses):
The ERASMUS Intensive Language Courses (EILC) are specialised courses in the less widely used and less taught languages organised in the countries where these languages are used as teaching languages at higher education institutions.

If you wish to participate in an Intensive Language Course, please specify it when completing the Declaration of Interest Form

The EILC give ERASMUS students visiting these countries for studies and placements the opportunity to study the language concerned for 2 to 6 weeks (with a minimum of 60 teaching hours in total, and at least 15 teaching hours a week) with the aim of being prepared for the ERASMUS mobility period abroad.

Apart from the ERASMUS grant, a supplementary mobility grant for participating in EILC may be awarded and paid by the respective sending Higher Education Institution. ERASMUS students are not charged a study fee for participation in an EILC course. However, fees may be charged for excursions and similar optional events and for other charges that ERASMUS students normally may be asked to pay.

Belgium (Dutch), Bulgaria (Bulgarian), Croatia (Croatian), Cyprus (Greek), Czech Republic (Czech), Denmark (Danish), Estonia (Estonian), Finland (Finnish and Swedish), Greece (Greek), Hungary (Hungarian), Iceland (Icelandic), Italy (Italian), Latvia (Latvian), Lithuania (Lithuanian), Malta (Maltese), the Netherlands (Dutch), Norway (Norwegian), Poland (Polish), Portugal (Portuguese), Romania (Romanian), Slovakia (Slovak), Slovenia (Slovenian), Spain (Catalan, Valencian, Basque and Galician), Sweden (Swedish), Switzerland (Italian) and Turkey(Turkish).

There are not any course offerings in English, French, German and Spanish.
