The Department of Town Planning of the Ministry of Internal Affairs under the auspices of the European Council and with a view to promote the architectural heritage of Cyprus organised a Pancyprian Photographic Competition in 2003.

The first prize in the subject area "Traditional Villages" was awarded to Marika Soteriou a student of the Graphic and Advertising Design Course. In the same subject area, George Ierodiakonou a student of the Audio Visual Communication Course was awarded a distinction.
