The programe also aims to provide students the necessary skills and knowledge required in the field of automotive service industry, which shows a vast change in technology over the past decade. Students will undertake a balance of academic and practical directions that will prepare them for direct employment as automotive technicians. The qualifications they will acquire lays foundations for continuation of their studies for a University Degree.

Intended learning outcomes:

Students who attend the Programe of Automotive Technician will have the opportunity  to:

  • Become familiar with the environment of Automotive Technician, and understand its organization and function in a specially designed workshop area.
  • Acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to carry out diagnosis and repairs by applying advanced methods.
  • Apply the skills acquired (organizational, administrative, technical) for the effective vehicle maintenance.
  • Use basic knowledge of thermodynamics to solve technical problems related with engine running and air conditioning system function.
  • Acquire basic knowledge of mathematics to solve technical problems.
  • Use basic knowledge of computers to solve problems related to the modern digital electronic communication and running of management systems and sub-systems.
  • Acquire basic knowledge of machine elements to solve technical problems of powertrain systems.
  • Use basic knowledge of mechanics and engineering measurement methods for solving technical problems related with braking, steering and suspension systems.
  • Recognize the main electrical components, and make basic electrical measurements on circuits associated with the environment of vehicle technician.
  • Be aware of and implement the legislation regarding safety and health at work and operation of workshops.
  • Be aware of the modern methodologies and techniques to a wide range of technologies and be able to use modern tools and equipment to solve technical and scientific problems.
