The course aims to:

  • Provide an integrated academic background in order to adapt to technological advancement in the context of Automotive Engineering.
  • Develop an ability to reason analytically and abstractly. The acquisition of mathematical skills is essential in developing reasoning abilities in the engineering area.
  • Reinforce understanding of theory through laboratory experience and design projects and become familiar with the use of a variety of engineering instruments.
  • Provide a detail understanding of theory and reinforce the ability to analyse and design automotive sub-systems e.g. power units, transmission, chassis, steering, braking and electrical systems.
  • Impact computer skills in solving engineering problems and applying computer technology in applications relevant to Automotive Engineering.
  • Lay the foundation for further education.

Advantages for the holders of the BSc in Automotive Engineering:

  • Pursue direct employment in automotive dealerships, automotive repairs industry and related fields were modern relevant technology expertise is needed
  • Continue for postgraduate studies at FIT and acquire the Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA).
  • Continue for postgraduate studies (MA/MSc/MBA/PhD) at UK or USA Universities.
