Mobility is a Lifestyle
Erasmus+ is a European Program for Education Training, Youth and Sports. The 2021-2027 program places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and on promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. The program also:
• supports the European Pillar of Social Rights
• implements the EU Youth Strategy 2021-2027
• develops the European dimension in sport
Frederick Institute of Technology (FIT) has been awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education for the whole period of the Erasmus+ Program (2021-2027). All students can participate in the Erasmus+ Program to be trained abroad from 2 up to 12 months.
Recent graduates can also gain their first experience abroad, provided that they submit their participation form during the last year of their studies. They can participate in the program from 2 up to 12 months. In addition, all Erasmus+ student participants have the opportunity to assess their skills in the foreign language(s) they will use to work or volunteer abroad and attend an online language course to improve their competence, free of charge.
The countries participating in the Erasmus+ Program are the 28 member-states of the European Union, Norway, Serbia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkey and North Macedonia.

Broaden students’ horizons
Student mobility greatly enhances student experience and is an activity we want to promote here at Frederick Institute of Technology. Sending FIT students abroad improves communication and understanding between cultures, enhances the learning experience and broaden students’ horizons, culturally and academically, and may open up many new and unexpected opportunities.
Hosting Organization
The placement will be able to take place in European Union countries participating in the program, in companies, training centers, research centers, universities and other organizations other than EU institutions or embassies of the student's countries.In all countries of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Estonia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain , Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Czech Republic, Finland. But also in the EEA countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, as well as in the accession countries Turkey and FYROM.
Scholarship
Each student/graduate who will be approved for participation, receives a scholarship from the Erasmus+ program, proportional to the period and the country he will go to. The program largely covers living and travel expenses.
More specifically:
Group 1 countries (high cost of living):
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden
Group 2 countries (moderate cost of living):
Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain
Group 3 countries (low cost of living):
Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey
Amount:
• To countries in group 1 a grant of up to 824 euros per month
• For group 2 countries, a grant of up to 756 euros per month
• For group 3 countries, a grant of up to 700 euros per month
Insurance

Deadline
The deadline for applying is the 25th of March, each year.
Application
All FIT students are eligible to apply for an Erasmus+ mobility, given that the requirements are met and funding is available. If you are interested in obtaining 1 or 2 semesters abroad, please contact the Mobility office via email or phone.
Fewer Opportunities
Students with fewer opportunities such as workers, immigrants, financial difficulties, married people, etc, can have extra funding of 250 euros.
They can also carry out a short-term move of 5-30 days with physical presence and the remaining period remotely. The minimum period of total physical and remote mobility cannot be less than 2 months.
The amounts vary as follows:
Up to the 14th day of activity - 79 EUR per day
15th to the 30th day of activity - 56 EUR per day
For students with fewer opportunities, the funding in this case is an extra 100 euros for a duration of up to 14 days and 150 euros from 15 to 30 days.

Gain new experiences
Staff mobility offers professional development opportunities for academic and non academic staff to gain new experiences or to improve their skills by participating in training mobility in another country.
Eligibility
All FIT full time academic and non academic staff, are eligible for ERASMUS+ mobility.
Grants
Each staff member who will be approved for participation, receives a grant from the Erasmus+ program, proportional to the period and the country he/she will go to. The program covers living and travel expenses.
More specifically:
Group 1 countries (high cost of living): Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden
Group 2 countries (moderate cost of living): Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain
Group 3 countries (low cost of living): Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey
Amount:
• To countries in group 1 a grant of up to 140 euros per day
• For group 2 countries, a grant of up to 160 euros per day
• For group 3 countries, a grant of up to 180 euros per day
Additionally, an amount for travel expenses is given to all participants depending on the distance between Cyprus and the city of arrival.
More specifically:
For distance between 500 - 1999 km a grant of up to 309 euros
For distance between 2000- 2999 km a grant of up to 395 euros
For distance between 3000-3999 km a grant of up to 580 euros
Hosting Organization
Staff Training Mobility doesn´t require an Erasmus+ agreement, but it might be easier to arrange with a partner organization.
For further information please contact the International Coordinator in your department. You can then contact the host department directly, since they must agree in advance to the visiting staffs training program.

Duration
The duration can be between 2 - 7 days including 1 or 2 days for traveling.
Application Procedure and Supporting Documents
The below documents are necessary in order to apply for an ERASMUS+ exchange and complete successfully the mobility.
EU Commission requires that the staff mobility is connected to your tasks at FIT. Therefore it is very important to describe you task and your current position and how the staff mobility will contribute to your work.
Before the mobility:
• Declaration of Interest
• Invitation Letter
• Staff Agreement for Training
• Permission (Addendum)
After the mobility:
• Boarding Passes
• Certificate of Attendance
• Post Mobility Report
• Complete the Online Final Report
All documents (except the Invitation Letter) must be signed by the Head of Department/Service)
