PEER TUTORING CENTER

Another step
towards success

The Peer Tutoring Center is a Tutoring Support Center, which was first established by Frederick University and Frederick Institute of Technology in Cyprus, in which students with excellent academic performance offer their fellow students free tutoring support in mainly entry-level subjects (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Chemistry, etc.)..

Any student can contact the Peer Tutoring Centre and arrange an individual or group meeting with one of the Centre's peer tutors. Peer tutors, through regular contact and collaboration, help their fellow students resolve their course questions, fill in gaps, and develop appropriate study methods and other necessary skills to meet their academic obligations.

Peer tutors are selected after an interview based not only on their academic performance but also on their personality: their contagiousness and the interest they show. They are then trained by the administrative staff and the professor of the course in which they will provide support

This system is very effective not only because the peer tutors are close in age to the trainees, but also because they have the same experiences, since they themselves have been taught and studied the same courses.
